Providers & Staff

The Safe Children Coalition is overseen by the Family Safety Alliance. FSA members are chosen to represent the communities we serve in overseeing the child protection continuum of care. The lead agency, the Sarasota Family YMCA holds the contract for all child protection services previously performed by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Child Protective Investigations are performed in Sarasota and DeSoto counties by DCF. In Manatee County investigations are performed by the Manatee Sheriffs Office (MSO). The Sarasota Family YMCA is responsible for administrative services including financial management, contract oversight, data services, communications, quality assurance, training, licensing and placement.

Direct case management services for children and their families are performed by a network of local community-based agencies including Manatee Glens, Youth and Family Alternatives and Family Preservation Services Inc. Westcoast Access to Children's Health Inc. (WATCH) provides a nurse to each of our three offices. Children's Medical Services (CMS) provides a medical foster care model for those children who need that level of care. Many other partner agencies and providers deliver very important services and supports for our families.
